These clubs still have something to fight for!

At this point of the Bundesliga season, sports betting pundits believe that only Leipzig have a legitimate chance of challenging Bayern Munich for the German Championship trophy. However, although that might be the case, it doesn’t mean that we can no longer expect intense football games from the other heavyweights.

Dortmund, Hoffenheim and Hertha are all anticipated to keep live betting blazing this Matchday 23 as they look to narrow the gap with the top dogs and establish their positions for Champions League qualification.

WEEK 23 SATURDAY:

Augsburg vs RB Leipzig

Winning two games on the bounce, Leipzig look primed to intensify the Bundesliga title chase and give Bayern a run for their money. Emil Forsberg and Timo Werner are in excellent form, so they should be able to easily handle the 13th-placed Augsburg who have only won three times at home this season.

The difference in talent is just massive, so Leipzig Asian Handicap -0.50@1.93 is a logical bet.

Borussia Dortmund vs Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer triumphed in their first meeting this campaign, so Dortmund will certainly be eager to avenge that loss. This battle, however, couldn’t come at a better time for the surging BVB as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally recaptured his scoring prowess after a two-game drought. It’s also a good thing for the hosts that they remain undefeated at Signal-Iduna-Park for half a year now. With that in mind, Dortmund Asian Handicap -1.00@1.94 is a good deal.

Mainz 05 vs Wolfsburg

After allowing their previous two opponents to score within 20 minutes, the Wolves undoubtedly have a lot of fixing to do on their defence. Their draw against Mainz last October will give them some hope to get at least a point in this reverse fixture, but the fact that the O-Fives beat Bayer over the weekend with two goals in the opening 11 minutes is a bad sign for a Wolfsburg outfit that has a penchant for starting slow.

Koln vs Bayern Munich

Fourteen goals in their last three matches in all competitions make Bayern the clear favourites to win this Saturday thriller. Sure, the Billy Goats managed to draw their away game against the champions three months ago, but their recent skid in the top flight won’t put their expectations up. It shouldn’t also help Koln that they are outclassed in depth of talent as they remain too dependent on 17-goal man Anthony Modeste and Yuya Osako.

Werder Bremen vs Darmstadt 98

It’s already a lost cause for Darmstadt as their fall to 2.Bundesliga seems inevitable following a 1-2 defeat to Augsburg. Not to mention that they haven’t won on the road in this campaign. Bremen, meanwhile, will be more motivated in this contest as they eye to pull further away from the relegation area after getting out of it in Matchday 22.

Hoffenheim vs Ingolstadt

Ingolstadt have the right tools to pull an upset as they have proven in their wins against the likes of Leipzig, Bayer and Frankfurt. Nevertheless, with Hoffenheim waiting on the other side, the most they could hope for is a draw. Julian Nagelsmann’s outfit is a model of composure, and it will take a lot of aggressiveness for a bottom club like Ingolstadt to surprise a team that have drawn most of its matches this season.

WEEK 23 SUNDAY:

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Schalke 04

Everything is going well for Dieter Hecking and the high-flying Gladbach as they now won four of their last five league matches while averaging two goals a game during that stretch. With that said, the Royal Blues are predicted to find themselves in deep trouble when they meet, considering that they have been having problems in closing games – as seen in their draws with Koln and Hoffenheim.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Freiburg

More is at stake for the struggling Frankfurt who are aiming to keep their European dreams alive. Nonetheless, after going scoreless in their latest matches, they might just not have enough quality to repulse Christian Streich’s side boosted by the firepower of the brilliant Maximilian Philipp and Vincenzo Grifo.

WEEK 23 MONDAY:

Hamburger SV vs Hertha BSC

This one is another David-vs-Goliath escapade, only that the David is unlikely to land a critical hit to take down the giant. The Red Shorts certainly lack confidence right now after Bayern handed them an eight-goal thrashing; and in an ugly twist of fate, they’ll be facing the Capital club that, just two weeks ago, almost upset the defending champs if not for a controversial added-time equaliser. If you’re punting, pick Hertha Draw No Bet@2.11.
