The Pelicans also drained 14 of their 31 long-range attempts, effectively using the Warriors’ greatest strength on them.
Steve Kerr will make his adjustments and the Warriors and the Dubs will play better, but I don’t think they will easily win in the Big Easy. Go for New Orleans +5.00 @ 1.96.
Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz (May 7, 09:00 GMT +8)
James Harden, Chris Paul and Clint Capela quickly erased any delusions Jazz fans may have about them nearing the level of the Rockets. Quin Snyder can’t figure out the three-man pick-and-roll offence the three are running, allowing them to score a lot of easy baskets. Eric Gordon was also unstoppable from the bench.
Meanwhile, the Jazz were out of sorts the entire game. The Rockets outscored them 39-22 in the first quarter alone. Their contracted defence allowed Harden to do whatever he wanted, be it a crafty finish inside or a laser pass to a waiting Trevor Ariza. To add insult to injury, both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert had fairly forgettable performances.
Unless Snyder addresses his help defence and their opponents’ highly effective pick-and-roll game, there’s no way they will win Game 4.
