The Bundesliga is reportedly on track for a much-awaited return on the field, which means that we might be able to see our favourite players and teams go at it for the title.
Bayern Munich still stand atop of the league table with 55 points and they own the highest Bundesliga 2020 odds of bringing home another trophy, while fellow contenders in Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Monchengladbach aren’t far behind.
But while everything is still up in the air, the transfer rumour mill is still running in full steam as teams plan try to reload for a late season push.
Several young stars in particular have been in numerous transfer talks – namely Kai Havertz, Leroy Sane, Timo Werner, and Jadon Sancho.
These standouts have performed well for their respective teams this season, which is why it’s understandable that they are some of hottest commodities in European football as of the moment.
As always, SBOBET is here to give you a roundup of the Bundesliga 2020 news.
Kai Havertz sought after by Premier League clubs
As expected, Kai Havertz has been a revelation for Bayer Leverkusen this season. The German midfielder has been one of their top playmakers as he notched nine goals and seven assists.
His performance has garnered significant interest from various teams. According to a recent report, the 20-year-old has been eyed by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
The said Premier League clubs have quality already at the midfield. The Blues recently added a key piece in Hakim Ziyech while the Red Devils already have Bruno Fernandes in there, but that isn’t going to stop them from having a bidding war for the young stalwart.
Havertz is a graduate from Bayer Leverkusen’s academy. While he will be keen on staying with the team, it’s expected that Havertz will test his value over the summer and he is open to move away from Germany as long as it is with the right club.
Leroy Sane signs multi-year deal with Bayern Munich
Just a few hours ago, it was confirmed that Bayern Munich has signed Leroy Sane for a multi-year deal.
The winger has been a long-term target for the Bavarians for as early as last summer only for him to suffer a torn ACL during the Community Shield. He has yet to play since that injury, but he was seen in training right before the COVID-19 shutdown.
This signing might turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Bayern Munich as they were able to sign him for only €40-M, which is significantly less than what they earmarked for him last summer.
With Kevin de Bruyne playing very well for Manchester City, Leroy Sane was deemed as expendable which paved the way for the defending champions to swoop in with this cost-efficient deal.
Liverpool bide their time on Timo Werner
Timo Werner has been long linked to Liverpool. And while his fit there is still left to be imagined, that will not stop the Premier League champions-elect to be going after the high-scoring forward.
His release clause with RB Leipzig is valued at roughly €60-M. Liverpool may opt to pay the said price right away to get him, but they reportedly told Werner’s representatives that they need more time to decide on their formal offer.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the transfer market is about to be distorted this summer. Player values are expected to dip so it’s expected that Liverpool will practice prudence on this particular move.
Werner and Klopp have expressed their admiration for one another prior to the shutdown. However, the 24-year-old is open to listen to other clubs’ pitches as well – namely Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, and Barcelona.
Borussia Dortmund in search for a possible Jadon Sancho replacement
With the arrival of Erling Haaland, perhaps that would soften the blow should Jadon Sancho leave over the summer. The young English international, in fact, has been heavily linked to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are expected to break the bank for Sancho while Chelsea and Liverpool are monitoring this situation.
With that said, BVB have turned their sights to possibly acquire Milot Rashica as Sancho’s replacement. The Werder Bremen striker has impressed this season with seven goals and four assists in 20 matches this term.
Signing the Kosovo international would be a huge bargain for Dortmund as he is currently valued only at around €31-M.
