This was a true treat for live betting fans!

Manchester City 1-1 Liverpool

Pulsating football games are one of the hallmarks which make the Premier League so special. And this was just another example which kept live betting on a knife-edge – and that was just for the neutrals!

A goal apiece, a point apiece and that only told part of the story.

Manchester City never wanted James Milner to leave nearly two years ago and here was the latest evidence why – a goal against his former employer, from the penalty spot, and another composed showing.

Then there was Sergio Aguero who, on his day, remains arguably the top striker in the Premier League and a true world class talent.

He levelled with aplomb to earn his side a draw and continue his excellent record against the Merseysiders – he has scored in each of his five home Premier League games against them.

But, after looking unstoppable since arriving in England five and a half years ago, in recent weeks there is something not quite as natural, not quite as fluid about the diminutive Argentine.

The fact boss Pep Guardiola didn’t give him a vote of confidence when he really needed it at the start of the year seems to have dented his confidence.

In normal circumstances, he’d have scored again here but failed to take the couple of opportunities which came his way, which makes me question if the relationship is slightly strained behind the scenes.

Not that Aguero was the only one as chance after chance went begging for both sides in an end-to-end finish.

A thoroughly entertaining game which sees City stay third and Liverpool fourth but there’s no doubt the visitors will be happier and City frustrated at the end of a week in which they bowed out of the Champions League.

International break time now – Premier League, we will miss you.
