Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo is box office stuff. In a mad five minutes, he scored a brilliant goal to put Real Madrid in charge of the Supercopa then got himself sent off!
Betting odds favoured a home win in the first leg, but in a frantic second half, Los Blancos took control in rather unconventional fashion. And now with a two-goal lead, football betting pundits are ready to hand this trophy to Real Madrid.
In a quiet first half, Lionel Messi came closest with a free-kick, but the Catalans had an unlucky start to the second period when Gerard Pique stretched to steer the ball past Ter Stegen and into his own net.
Barca fans’ least favourite player, Ronaldo, had appeared at the start of the second half to make matters worse, and when Gareth Bale crossed, Madrid’s superstar tried a scissor kick but failed to convert. Then Barca drew level when Denis Suarez went down under a challenge from Keylor Navas and Messi scored from the spot…the little genius loves El Clasico!
But then enter Ronaldo to do what he does best and steal the limelight. First, he scored a brilliant solo goal and got himself booked for taking his shirt off to reveal his beautiful torso! Then minutes later, he appeared to take a dive in the box and received a second yellow. He didn’t agree with the ref and gave the official a shove which may get him into trouble.
Marco Asensio made it three with another stunning strike, and now it’s Madrid’s to lose in the second leg.
But you can’t take your eyes off Ronaldo!
