Singapore Grand Prix
The Formula 1 season heads to what I think is the most mesmerising race among all of the impressive tracks on the list.
The lively parties and beautiful skyline will be highlighted by the beautiful night race that is the Singapore Grand Prix. Betting websites will be full of passionate punters making a bet online, hoping to see some exciting action on a track that offers a unique charm.
Betting odds obviously favour the fastest men among the pack, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. Both drivers are embroiled in a bitter battle to solidify their grasp at the top of the Driver Standings, so expect some exceptional driving from these two.
Vettel has a special advantage at this race as bookies give him 2.00 outright odds of winning the race. He has won in the Marina Bay track four times, the most out of anyone since the race was revived in 2008. While Hamilton only won here with Mercedes in 2009, his impeccable racing techniques garner him 2.50 odds among sites like SBOBET.
Outside the two, there are other drivers who have as much of a shot at the podium. Daniel Ricciardo (8.00) always shows up at Singapore, pulling off impressive performances every now and then. The relatively short and narrow track could also do wonders for Max Verstappen (8.00), his Red Bull team-mate.
Valtteri Bottas (9.00) and Kimi Raikkonen (13.00) may not be looked upon as strong contenders for the title, but the mere fact that they’re driving the two of the most powerful machines means that they can compete. They should be able to fight for the podium spots at the very least.
The good thing about the Marina Bay Street Circuit is that it doesn’t have a lot of straights for rivers to maximize the car power. Sergio Perez, Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso and the rest of the chasing pack have a chance of gaining points here if they manage their pit and tyre strategies well.
There’s been talk that this might be the last year of the Singapore Grand Prix due to the traffic and business disruptions the marquee sporting event causes. However, negotiations are going on to extend the beautiful night race of the F1 calendar. Until we hear anything positive, let’s buckle up and enjoy the final iteration of the Singapore GP!
