Well, somebody has to. We’re six games into the Primera Division and Barcelona are storming ahead, but as one of two other unbeaten sides, Atletico are in the hunt.
At the start of the season, betting websites couldn’t split Barca and Real Madrid for the title but our Asian Handicap Betting offer already has Ernesto Valverde’s team odds-on for glory at 1.48.
WEEK 7 SATURDAY:
Celta Vigo vs Girona
Before the leading pack appears, first live betting option sees 17th-placed Girona visit Celta Vigo where a home win looks on the cards. Maximiliano Gomez is in fine form and has already scored five for the hosts while Girona hasn’t won, or indeed scored in four. You can get 1.98 on a home win, with a -0.75 handicap, while Under 2.50 goals is at 1.85, and the most likely scoreline is 1-0 at 5.80.
Deportivo La Coruna vs Getafe
Deportivo ground out a first win against Alaves recently but a 4-1 defeat to Espanyol dumped them back in the bottom three. Getafe has started well; accumulating eight points after a resounding 4-0 win over Villarreal.
Sevilla vs Malaga
Sevilla are a point further back in third place and highly unlikely to lose ground against Malaga, languishing in 19th place with a solitary point. Wissam Ben Yedder hit a Champions League hat-trick at home to Maribor in midweek and he’ll fancy more fun on Saturday.
WEEK 7 SUNDAY:
Levante vs Alaves
If Malaga had a bad day, it may get worse if bottom club Alaves can finally break their duck away to Levante. The hosts have started well, in ninth place, but were thumped, 4-0, by Real Betis on Monday and Alaves pushed Real Madrid close last week.
Leganes vs Atletico Madrid
Diego Simeone is juggling his players at the moment, with Atletico facing Chelsea in the Champions League and then an expected high-octane local derby with Leganes in the weekend. It won’t be easy but the visitors can cut Barca’s lead down to a point, for a day, and with a -1.00 goal handicap they are at 2.11 to do just that.
Real Sociedad vs Real Betis
Sociedad will be hoping to come back from Russia in one piece after a Europa visit to Zenit- St Petersburg, particularly after losing their last three league games. Real Betis have moved up to fifth, with four wins in the last five, and will see a big opportunity here.
Barcelona vs Las Palmas
Lionel Messi looks in the mood to break more records as his stratospheric career just keeps on amazing the football world. He has nine goals already this season and that’s four more than Las Palmas! Plus, Barca have only conceded two in six games so far. Las Palmas are a 2.01 to win with a +3.00 goals start.
WEEK 7 MONDAY:
Valencia vs Athletic Bilbao
The Mestalla is a happier place than it’s been for some time as Valencia are the third team to remain unbeaten, and that have lifted Marcelino’s men to fourth in the table. Athletic Club are 11th but without a win in three.
Villarreal vs Eibar
So, poor Fran Escriba is no more after he was sacked by Villarreal following his side’s disastrous showing against Getafe last week, and it may seem a little early for such drastic action; particularly as Eibar arrives on the back of two hammerings, 6-1 and 4-0. A home win is at 1.80.
Real Madrid vs RCD Espanyol
Are Los Blancos starting to click? If so, it’s about time. Cristiano Ronaldo was on target twice as Los Blancos showed their true class for the first time this season with an impressive Champions League win in Dortmund. Espanyol won’t lie down though, after a slow start they are three unbeaten with two wins and a draw.
