Soaring Celtics are the New Team to Beat in the East!

While the Cleveland Cavaliers are struggling, the Boston Celtics continue to establish themselves as the online betting favourites out East.

Few sports betting experts expected the Celtics to play this good, especially after losing Gordon Hayward at the start of the season. However, they defied betting odds and proved doubters wrong as they remain unbeaten for nine straight games.

It’s still a long season and a lot can happen, but there’s no doubt the Beantown team own the Eastern Conference right now.

Boston Celtics 110-107 Atlanta Hawks

Boston almost fell to the same team that took down the Cavs yesterday, but the C’s held on to extend their winning streak to nine.

Kyrie Irving was his usual self again, scoring 35 points and dishing out seven assists to spearhead the Celtics’ offence. The 25-year-old guard also hit a three-pointer with 1:37 left on the clock to shift the momentum in Boston’s direction and give them the lead for good.

Dennis Schroder and Dewayne Dedmon played well to spark Atlanta’s comeback, but their efforts weren’t enough as the other Hawks starters struggled to find their scoring touch.

Brooklyn Nets 98-92 Phoenix Suns

D’Angelo Russell scored 13 of his 23 points in the final quarter to power the Nets past the Suns in what was surprisingly a low-scoring game.

The expected scoring frenzy between the league’s two fastest teams didn’t pan out as both sides had a hard time making their shots, tallying just a combined 88 points in the first half. Fortunately for Brooklyn, Russell found his groove just in time to put an end to their four-game slide.

Joe Harris also impressed for the Nets with 18 points, while TJ Warren and Devin Booker scored 20 and 18 respectively in a losing effort for Phoenix.

Miami Heat 80-97 Golden State Warriors

The Warriors routed the Heat at Oracle Arena, thanks in large part to their defence that forced Miami to commit 20 turnovers.

It was a pretty off night for Golden State’s starters, with Kevin Durant the only Warrior reaching the 20-point mark with 21. Draymond Green scored 18 and grabbed nine boards while Steph Curry and Klay Thompson totalled just 29 points.

However, whatever the Dubs lacked on offence, they made it up on defence, finishing the game with 12 steals and 10 blocks while limiting the Heat to just 36.1 percent shooting.

James Johnson had a standout performance for Miami though as he led them with 21 points, nine rebounds and six dimes.
