The last time I’ve been smitten by a big man was during Yao Ming’s stint with the Houston Rockets. While the organization is trying their hands on another Chinese prodigy, there is one big who is getting all of my attention and betting tips.
Joel Embiid has wowed many betting websites with his fantastic play under the rim and from distance. While his health is still a worrying issue for the Philadelphia 76ers, his chemistry with Ben Simmons is nothing short of electric. They will be a force to be reckoned with for years.
In fact, they’re already showing signs of their greatness to the rest of the league!
Utah Jazz 86-107 Philadelphia 76ers
Philly’s fearsome twosome was the driving force behind their overwhelming victory over the Rudy Gobert-less Utah Jazz. Derrick Favors could not get it done against Embiid, while The Process scored 15 points and snatched 11 rebounds. Simmons had four steals to go with his own double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds.
Atlanta Hawks 85-96 San Antonio Spurs
LaMarcus Aldridge was not about to let the Cameroonian be the only outstanding big today. The Spur continues to be the team’s bright spot in the absence of Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker. He ended the night with 22 points and 11 rebounds as the Spurs took care of the Hawks at home.
Oklahoma City Thunder 107-114 New Orleans Pelicans
Billy Donovan needs to make defensive tweaks if he wants the Thunder to close out winnable games. They did well in the first half, but their defence once again became suspect to attacks. The thing that makes this defeat more interesting is that the Pelicans were without Cousins for the fourth quarter after the big got ejected for swinging an elbow to Russell Westbrook’s head.
Boston Celtics 110-102 Dallas Mavericks
The Boston Celtics have seemed like unreliable on their road trip so far, but they’ve always found a way to keep the winning streak alive. Kyrie Irving managed to keep Harrison Barnes and the Dallas Mavericks from running away with the W at the American Airlines Center and force a dramatic win in overtime. He ended the game with an unreal stat line of 47 points and 6 assists.
Washington Wizards 99-88 Milwaukee Bucks
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks starters did pretty well in the game, but their lack of a reliable bench cost them the game against the Wizards. Kelly Oubre Jr. was the difference maker in the game as his 18 points sealed the victory for the visitors.
Portland Trail Blazers 100-92 Memphis Grizzlies
It would be easy to blame Mario Chalmers for the Grizzlies’ poor performance against Portland if we only look at the final score. However, the former Heat player actually played decently in his 32 minutes on the floor. The only thing to blame for Grizzlies fans is the outstanding game played by the Trail Blazers.
Los Angeles Clippers 85-107 New York Knicks
Kristaps Porzingis is another player that continues to tantalize me.
Despite his poor shooting night, he notched 25 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks to lead the Knickerbockers to a glorious win over the Clippers. Blake Griffin, his opposite, also played fantastically. However, his team let him down in terms of scoring and defence.
Indiana Pacers 105-97 Orlando Magic
This game was a must-watch as these two ball clubs are the most pleasant surprises of the season. This first meeting was won by the visiting Pacers after Victor Oladipo scored 29 points on the team that drafted him. Bojan Bogdanovic and Thaddeus young chipped into the win with their offensive and defensive efforts.
Cleveland Cavaliers 116-88 Detroit Pistons
The Cavaliers are on a superb winning streak where they always shoot past the 100-point mark. The Pistons were added to the count after an uninspired game from the entire roster. Meanwhile, LeBron James and Kevin Love were popping off for The Land.
Minnesota Timberwolves 102-118 Charlotte Hornets
Jimmy Butler looks like he was still rattled by the bitter loss they experienced against the Pistons as the Timberwolves stumbled in Charlotte. Dwight Howard had a flashback to his 2010 form as he outplayed Karl-Anthony Towns to a 25-20 night. Frank Kaminsky was also unbelievable from the bench, scoring 24 points in 21 minutes of basketball.
Denver Nuggets 114-98 Sacramento Kings
The Denver Nuggets were definitely heating up after the questionable ejection Nikola Jokic experienced during their loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The talented big took out his frustrations on the poor Kings as he ended the night with 16 points and 14 rebounds. The rest of the Nuggets’ starting unit also did well against a disgruntled Sacramento squad.
