I’d like to think that I made sensible betting tips yesterday, but upsets are the biggest reason why we can’t get enough of the NBA in the first place.
Many of these teams defied the Asian Handicap betting odds stacked against them and put on performances that garnered big wins for the punters that believed in them.
Brooklyn Nets 121-125 Orlando Magic
Aaron Gordon is the man of the hour for the Magic after posting a career-high 41 points for the Magic. Evan Fournier chipped in 28 points to get the Magic just above D’Angelo Russell’s 29 points. Gordon’s high-scoring feats did well enough to cover for a squad that was struggling to score.
Chicago Bulls 112-119 Cleveland Cavaliers
The Chicago Bulls put on an impressive fight against the Cleveland Cavaliers despite the absence of key players like Nikola Mirotic and Zach LaVine. Lauri Markkanen showed the Chicago faithful why he was worth the draft pick.
However, it was pretty much impossible for them to keep LeBron James and company from winning.
New York Knicks 89-110 Boston Celtics
The Knicks put up little to no resistance when they squared off against the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown and doing a brilliant job in providing the scoring load that Gordon Hayward left. Kyrie Irving scored 20 points but ended the night with a terrible 38.5% shooting clip.
Indiana Pacers 130-107 Minnesota Timberwolves
This is the result I’m most shocked about, to be honest. It’s true that Jimmy Butler sat out of this game, but there’s no excuse for Andrew Wiggins’ terribly stat line after a fantastic finish against Oklahoma City. Meanwhile, Victor Oladipo continues to thrive in the Indiana system: he finished with 28 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
New Orleans Pelicans 93-103 Portland Trail Blazers
The Pelicans couldn’t just get their groove on after losing Anthony Davis to a knee injury during their game against the Blazers. DeMarcus Cousins pulled off an admirable effort with his 38 points, but Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum proved to be too much for them.
Utah Jazz 84-102 Los Angeles Clippers
The Jazz were held helpless as there wasn’t anyone ready to step in for Rodney Hood in the scoring department. While Donovan Mitchell put on a good game, his efforts weren’t enough to stop Point Blake’s near double-double in an overwhelming win for the Clips.
