Nothing riles up NBA betting websites more than a high-scoring game. Games that feature high-octane offence always make for intense live betting experiences and memorable times with friends and strangers alike.
Today was extra special as almost all of the teams managed to shoot the lights out and leave many fans satisfied. We can expect more exciting basketball as the lead-up to the All-Star Break continues.
Cleveland Cavaliers 140-135 Washington Wizards
Easily the game of the night, the Cavaliers-Wizards game was an exciting affair that saw the game go into overtime. Kevin Love and Bradley Beal led their teams in scoring, ending the night with 39 and 41 points respectively. The assist numbers of LeBron James (17) and John Wall (12) are also nothing to scoff at. It was an exciting game that saw 11 players from both sides scoring in double digits.
Los Angeles Lakers 121-107 New York Knicks
Trouble continues to stir in Knick Land as New York suffer a humiliating defeat at the hand of the lowly Lakers. The Knicks actually shot well; they were just outplayed defensively by Luke Walton and co. Phil Jackson needs to do something with his roster before the trade deadline if they want to compete for a playoff spot.
Oklahoma City Thunder 90-93 Indiana Pacers
Another monster night for Russell Westbrook ended in defeat as Paul George’s turnaround jumper put the Indiana Pacers just out of reach for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Andre Roberson actually shot well for a change, but Victor Oladipo needs to convert more of his attempts to help Russ win more games.
Philadelphia 76ers 96-113 Detroit Pistons
It was expected that the Sixers would lose without their star big man guarding the centre, but the visitors deserve some credit in managing to score pretty well against a decent defensive team in Detroit. Jahlil Okafor took charge of Philadelphia while Joel Embiid’s gone, but his defensive inadequacy hurts his team’s chances.
Utah Jazz 120-95 Atlanta Hawks
For the Jazz, the game was decided from tip-off and they didn’t allow the hosts to even catch up. Dwight Howard had a solid (albeit quiet) night, and the Hawks’ weakness in scoring is revealing its ugly head to haunt them.
Los Angeles Clippers 109-118 Toronto Raptors
The Clippers actually did well in the first quarter, but they failed to keep up with a complete and deadly Toronto starting five when they got on a shooting tear. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan did a lot of heavy lifting to try and get the W, but Raymond Felton running the point just doesn’t feel right.
Miami Heat 115-113 Minnesota Timberwolves
The young Wolves of Minnesota gave Erik Spoelstra and the entire Heat organisation a scare, but their unlikely run stays alive with an 115-113 win. The Heat were able to cancel out Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Town’s big games with spectacular individual efforts from Doran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside. Their run now stands at 11 wins, and they are now making a serious run for the low playoff seeds.
Phoenix Suns 106-111 New Orleans Pelicans
Phoenix could have easily won this game if Devin Booker even managed to sink in at least three of his 15 botched field goal attempts. Anthony Davis did well in carrying his team out of a bad spot with his 34 points, nine rebounds and five blocks in 40 minutes of quality play. He also sank 12 of his 21 shot attempts.
Dallas Mavericks 87-110 Denver Nuggets
Right after signing a two-year deal with the Mavericks, Yogi Ferrell had a subpar shooting night that compounded with the other starters in their 87-110 loss to the Nuggets. Will Barton led all players in scoring with his 31 points. Nikola Jokic also made a strong return to the starting line-up with his 13 points and nine assists.
San Antonio Spurs 74-89 Memphis Grizzlies
It was announced that Kawhi Leonard won’t be playing against the Grizzlies hours before tip-off, so many were obviously surprised. In true Popovich fashion, Coach Gregg Popovich prioritised the health of his wards over the W. The Grizzlies were more than happy to showcase a comfortable, low-scoring blowout of the Spurs in front of their loving Grindhouse crowd.
Chicago Bulls 112-107 Sacramento Kings
Everything may not be going well in Chicago, but they still have the players to outdo Sacramento. Dwyane Wade and Michael Carter-Williams did major damage in the absence of Jimmy Butler. Meanwhile, DeMarcus Cousins’s 18 points and 14 rebounds cannot make up for the other lapses in the roster.
