NBA Preview: Coaching Issues Haunt the Knicks and Cavaliers

A five-game schedule is in store for tomorrow in the NBA and multiple teams are out to arrest their losing skids.

The Utah Jazz will have their chance to avenge their previous loss against the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks are dealing with much more issues than their poor form.

On the flip side, the Dallas Mavericks and the Philadelphia Sixers would like to ride their hot hand at home to grab more victories.

SBOBET gives you today’s edition of our NBA preview.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz and the Memphis Grizzlies will face off once more at the Vivint Smart Home Arena, only this time without their starting point guards in Ja Morant and Mike Conley.

Ja Morant is still suffering back spasms and is still listed week-to-week. But good thing for them that Jonas Valanciunas is back to playing well.

Mike Conley is listed as questionable for this game given the severity of his hamstring injury in which he suffered in their loss against the Sixers. Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert should continue to hold down the fort for the Quin Snyder-coached squad.

Betting tip: Jazz Asian Handicap -12.50 @2.05

Phoenix Suns @ Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets will host the Phoenix Suns in a matchup that will feature some of the league’s top scorers capable of producing some of the best NBA 2019 highlights.

James Harden and Russell Westbrook will look to sustain their momentum as they are fresh off of winning against the defending champions, the Toronto Raptors.

While Harden was limited to only 23 points by Toronto, it was Westbrook who came through by registering a 19-point, 13-rebound, 11-assist triple-double.

Devin Booker is expected to continue to carry the offencive cudgels for the Suns. He recently scored a season-high 44 points in a tight affair against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Philadelphia Sixers

The Philadelphia Sixers will open their three-game homestand by facing the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow.

The Brett Brown-mentored squad is currently 10-0 at home this season, and they’ll look to recover from a hiccup after losing to the Washington Wizards.

Joel Embiid and Josh Richardson are expected to miss this game due to their respective injuries, which would give more opportunities for Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, and Al Horford to shine.

Cleveland will hope to break out of their slump while dealing with some internal issues.

In a report by The Athletic, anonymous Cavs players expressed their displeasure over Coach John Beilein’s coaching style. At the same time, they have made Kevin Love available to trades for a possible roster shakeup.

Betting tip: Sixers Asian Handicap -11.50 @1.95

Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks

Mike Miller will make his coaching debut for the Knicks as they host the visiting Pacers tomorrow.

Former head coach David Fizdale was sacked days after New York suffered their eighth consecutive loss of the season.

The embattled tactician had been on the hot seat since the start of the 2019/20 season. It didn’t help when his team underperformed and churned out a league-worst 4-18 so far which included an impromptu press conference from their inept front office earlier.

Indiana will be hoping to continue their roll before embarking a tough schedule in the next two weeks which features matches against the Clippers, Celtics, Lakers, Bucks, and the Raptors.

The Pacers are 7-2 in their last nine contests while they have won their last six meetings with the Knicks since 2017. That should be a great indication on who has the better NBA 2019 odds of winning in this matchup.

Betting tip: Pacers Asian Handicap -6.50 @1.96

New Orleans Pelicans @ Dallas Mavericks

Dallas will get to host New Orleans for the first time this season. They have beaten them twice already on the road.

The Mavericks have been superb as of late by going 3-0 in their last road trip plus winning five of their last six home games.

They are fresh off of a victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves where multiple players have stepped up besides Luka Doncic.

Dwight Powell has produced a 24-point performance while shooting a perfect 9-for-9 from the field. Jalen Brunson helped Dallas’ cause by sparking a momentous rally with 14 of his 16 points in the final period.

New Orleans are on a much different streak as they’ve dropped seven games in a row after losing to Phoenix last Thursday.

Brandon Ingram is still the team’s leading scorer with 25.2 points per game, while Jrue Holiday is right behind him with 19.5.

Pelicans GM David Griffin indicated that Zion Williamson might be making a return soon. However, expect the Pelicans’ brass to ease up his workload for the following weeks.

Betting tip: Mavericks Asian Handicap -9.00 @1.96
