NBA: Lake Show Ready, Nets’ New Chapter, Rockets’ New Backcourt

Several NBA teams have hosted their first media days as the new 2019/20 season is just around the corner.

The Nets, Rockets, and the Lakers shared their time with the reporters as they answered questions left and right providing us a sneak peek on what to expect from them.

Stars like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden have shared their thoughts on what was one of the craziest offseasons ever and for sure they can’t wait to get started.

As always, SBOBET is here to provide you with some of the biggest NBA 2019 news there is.

Russell Westbrook, James Harden looking to make it work

Harden and Westbrook both started their careers with the Oklahoma City Thunder which includes a finals appearance in 2012 where they lost against the LeBron James-led Miami Heat. From that point on, their respective careers took a different turn with them winning MVP awards back in the 2017 and 2018 season.

Rockets fans are still wondering on how will these two work together, especially since both of these guards lead the league in usage rate last season. However, it helps that the duo has played together on numerous occasions already. They are optimistic that their off-court relationship will translate to possibly a title for the Houston faithful.

“I impact the game in so many different ways & I’ve proven that for many years. That’s why I’m not worried. I don’t have to have the ball to impact the game. I can go a game & be scoreless & if we win that’s the best thing,” said Westbrook in their press conference last night.

“If Russ got it going and Russ is on one of those games that we’ve all seen before, guess what I’m going to do, sit back and watch the show and vice-versa,” added Harden.

LeBron James excited to bring the title to Los Angeles

LeBron James will be entering his 17th season in the league with a rejuvenated mind and body as he is well-rested after missing the playoffs for the first time since 2005.

Now with a new running mate in Anthony Davis plus some key additions like Dwight Howard, there’s no doubt that the Lakers fans like their NBA 2019 odds of winning it all in this upcoming season.

In what was one of their best moves, Lakers have addressed their outside shooting after placing only 29th in the league in three-point shooting last season. New additions like Jared Dudley, Troy Daniels, and Danny Green will surely help on that regard.

Add that and a healthy, motivated LeBron James, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll make it far this campaign.

“It was a great summer for me. I’m very motivated. But I’m not in talking-about-it mode. I’ve been very quiet this summer for a reason. My mom always told me, ‘Don’t talk about it, be about it,’” said LeBron James.

“That’s good news for us and bad news for the rest of the league,” added head coach Frank Vogel.

Kyrie Irving talks Celtics stint, Kevin Durant bares injury status

A lot of us were probably shocked when both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant decided to join forces for the Brooklyn Nets. However, fans over at Brooklyn would have to temper their expectations since Durant is still out with an Achilles injury.

The duo raved about the culture built by head coach Kenny Atkinson and GM Sean Marks, and they’ve expressed their excitement to play with some of the league’s young stars in Caris Levert, Jarrett Allen, and Joe Harris.

This will be a similar situation for Kyrie Irving, as he would be asked once again to lead a team filled with youth and inexperience. He is hopeful that he will do much better this time around.

“I didn’t give [my Celtics teammates] everything I could have. I failed those guys in terms of being a leader in that environment,” lamented Irving.

“We want to end our careers together, we want to do this as a team, and then what better place to do it than Brooklyn?” he added.

As for Kevin Durant, fans may have to wait for his arrival for now, as he is expected to fully focus on his rehab this season. Sean Marks and Kyrie Irving reiterated that they won’t rush him back and that they’ll support him every step of the way.

“We’re not going to plan on him playing. Kevin will have a large say in when he comes back and how he’s feeling. The expectation now is for him to be out for the year,” bared Marks.

“I will make sure there is no pressure on him. I want him to be 101-per cent healthy. I’ll be overpatient with Kevin Durant,” emphasized Irving.
