Wednesday’s seven-game NBA line-up will be headlined by the titanic showdown between Kawhi Leonard‘s Clippers and James Harden‘s Rockets. Harden has had a historic start to the season in terms of scoring, but he will be put to the test against a Clippers team that continues to improve.
SBOBET NBA fans also have other games to look forward to, including the league-leading Celtics looking to extend their eight-game win streak and the upstart Timberwolves taking on the struggling Spurs.
Philadelphia 76ers @ Orlando Magic
After a recent three-game slide, the 76ers have now won back-to-back games after their close 98-97 win over the Cavs last night. Ben Simmons finally returned for the Sixers after missing a couple of games due to a shoulder injury, and he finished with 15 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid led the way with 27 points and 16 rebounds.
While the Sixers will be on the second night of a back-to-back, they should still have more than enough to beat the slumping Magic, who have lost five of their last six games.
Memphis Grizzlies @ Charlotte Hornets
The Grizzlies defied the NBA 2019 odds by picking up their first road win of the season against the San Antonio Spurs. Jaren Jackson Jr. had a season-high 24 points, while Dillon Brooks broke out of his recent shooting slump to add 21.
Memphis will look to make it back-to-back road victories against the Hornets, who have dropped three games in a row after a 114-106 loss to the Sixers.
Backup point guard Devonta Graham has been brilliant of late, averaging 23.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in his last four games. But he desperately needs more help for the Hornets to snap their skid at home.
Betting Tip: Grizzlies Asian Handicap +1.50 @ 1.90
Washington Wizards @ Boston Celtics
The Wizards remain one of the worst teams in the league. Their 113-100 home loss to the Cavs was their third in four games. They were also blown out by 15 by the Pacers and by 22 by a Timberwolves team that was missing star big man Karl-Anthony Towns.
It’s hard to see the Wizards snapping their skid in Boston as they face a streaking Celtics team that’s won eight in a row. Boston will be without Gordon Hayward, who will miss the next six weeks after undergoing surgery on his broken left hand.
The Celtics still beat the Mavs, 116-110, at home in their first game without Hayward. And with Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, and Jayson Tatum, they should still have the firepower to get the win over the Wizards.
Betting Tip: Celtics Asian Handicap -9.00 @ 1.92
Los Angeles Clippers @ Houston Rockets
The Clippers improved to 6-1 at home after beating the Toronto Raptors on Monday. That’s despite Kawhi Leonard (12 points, 2-11 FG, 9 turnovers) having by far his worst game of the season against his old team.
Leonard will look to bounce back against the Rockets, who will be missing guard Eric Gordon for six weeks due to knee surgery. But James Harden, whose 37 PPG average is the highest in the NBA after 10 games in the past 50 years, is more than capable of carrying the offensive load.
San Antonio Spurs @ Minnesota Timberwolves
The Spurs’ recent NBA 2019 results have been quite concerning. They’ve now lost four of their last five games, three of which coming at home. Their defence has struggled mightily as they’ve allowed opponents to shoot 50 per cent or better in each of the last three games.
That bodes well for the Timberwolves and their young stars in Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, who are both capable of scoring at will. Wiggins remains red-hot, averaging 29 points on 50 per cent shooting through six games this month.
Betting Tip: Timberwolves Asian Handicap -2.00 @ 1.92
Golden State Warriors @ Los Angeles Lakers
The Warriors just have no intention of winning at the moment. They’ve now lost four in a row and have the worst record in the West at 2-9. That’s despite D’Angelo Russell dropping four straight games of 30 or more points, including a 52-point explosion in a losing effort against the Timberwolves.
They now head to LA to take on the Lakers, who bounced back after their seven-game win streak was snapped to beat the upstart Phoenix Suns on the road. Despite being on the second night of a back-to-back, the Lakers duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James should make short work of the wounded Warriors.
Toronto Raptors @ Portland Trail Blazers
The Raptors have been bitten by the injury bug. After Kyle Lowry suffered a broken thumb that will see him miss the next three weeks, OG Anunoby suffered an eye injury in their loss to the Clippers and will miss their trip to Portland against the Blazers.
That should be good news for the struggling Blazers, who have now lost five of their last six games after going down to the Sacramento Kings last night. Damian Lillard and co. will be desperate to pick up a much-needed win at home, and given the Raptors’ current injury concerns, they should get it.
