NBA: Former Teammates Set to Clash at the Nation’s Capital

NBA MVP candidate Luka Doncic takes his act to the nation’s capital as his Mavericks face the Wizards tomorrow.

The Mavericks are fresh from a 94-87 loss against the Magic which took most people by surprise, but the SBOTOP NBA 2022 odds are favouring them to get back on the winning track.

Meanwhile, the Sixers-Hawks and Blazers-Pelicans matchups are going to be fun too, while the Hornets-Heat one is a battle between two squads who are in dire need of a victory.

Dallas Mavericks @ Washington Wizards

Former Mavericks stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are going head-to-head tomorrow and they’re tasked to produce for their respective squads.

In their loss against the Magic, Doncic – the NBA’s leading scorer – was held to 24 points after scoring at least 30 in each of their first nine games. Although scoring 24 is not bad by any means, his efficiency left a lot to be desired since he went 9-for-29 from the field.

Dallas were also outrebounded 49-29 by Orlando in their first loss in their last five matches.

The Wizards, meanwhile, snapped their two-game skid by handing the Hornets yet another loss. Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis combined for 39 points, while Rui Hachimura had 17 off the bench.

With Bradley Beal currently under the NBA’s health and safety protocols, he’ll be sitting out tomorrow’s match. Jordan Goodwin and Corey Kispert are going to play more minutes as a result.

Philadelphia Sixers @ Atlanta Hawks

Joel Embiid and Trae Young are going to play their second consecutive game tomorrow after missing games earlier this week.

Embiid missed three games with the flu and he churned out a 33-point, 10-rebound double-double in his return to help beat the Suns. Young, on the other hand, had 22 points and nine assists in their loss to the red-hot Jazz.

The Sixers will carry on without James Harden, who remains sidelined due to a foot tendon sprain. The Beard can’t put weight on his foot and he’s expected to miss at least four more weeks.

Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, and Georges Niang have all stepped up in his absence. Harris just put up 21 points, eight boards, and six assists against the Suns, while Niang made seven three-pointers also in the said game.

Maxey struggled with 11 points, but before that, he had 31 and 32 against the Knicks and the Wizards.

Dejounte Murray and Clint Capela are the ones backing up Trae Young. Murray had 26 points, six rebounds, and five assists against the Jazz, while Capela is averaging 16.7 rebounds per game in his last three.

Betting Tip: Atlanta Hawks Asian Handicap -1.00 @ 1.95

Charlotte Hornets @ Miami Heat

Only one between the Hornets and the Heat can end their losing streak in South Beach.

The Hornets suffered their sixth consecutive loss against the Blazers a while ago, and their lacklustre offence is a huge reason why.

Prior to their game against Portland, Charlotte were 24th in the league in scoring at 109.1 points per game since they’re still without their franchise point guard LaMelo Ball.

Ball (ankle) has yet to suit up this season and the Hornets don’t have a firm timetable for his return. Terry Rozier currently leads the team with 22.8 points per game.

As for the Heat, they’re on a two-game slump following their loss to the Blazers because of Josh Hart’s late three.

While Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, and Bam Adebayo will continue to lead the way, the Heat are hopeful that Tyler Herro (ankle) and Caleb Martin (quad) are going to be ready for tomorrow to have a better chance of winning.

Betting Tip: Miami Heat Asian Handicap -10.00 @ 1.95

Portland Trail Blazers @ New Orleans Pelicans

The Blazers plan to pick up their third straight victory when they visit the Pelicans for the fifth game of their six-game road trip.

Portland got quality NBA 2022 results against Miami and Charlotte already and they’ve been one of the surprising teams this season, going 8-3 in their first 11 matches.

After missing four games, Damian Lillard came back to play two straight matches, dropping 19 and 26 respectively. If Jerami Grant and Jusuf Nurkic don’t play, he may need to put the team on his back once more.

The Pelicans, meanwhile, snapped their two-game losing streak after beating the Bulls on Wednesday.

Brandon Ingram had a team-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and he’ll be one of the focal points in their offence alongside Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum.
