The Golden State Warriors are the hottest team in the NBA at the moment with nine wins in a row, and they will be gunning to take their winning streak to 10 games when they take on Donovan Mitchell the resurgent Utah Jazz.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers – armed with new trade acquisition Caris LeVert – will be keen to extend their current win streak to three games when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
Read on below as SBOTOP previews the NBA’s upcoming six-game slate.
San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers’ new acquisition Caris LeVert looks set to make his debut in Cleveland against the Spurs. LeVert, who is coming off a 42-point performance in his last game for the Pacers, will be a welcome addition for the Cavs, who have still gone 3-1 in their last four games without All-Star guard Darius Garland. Garland, who is dealing with a back issue, is questionable to play.
As for the Spurs, they just snapped their three-game losing streak with a big 25-point win over the Rockets. Keldon Johnson had a team-high 28 points, while first-time All-Star Dejounte Murray had a brilliant all-around game with 19 points, 11 assists, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Betting Tip: San Antonio Spurs Asian Handicap +6.50 @ 1.87
Chicago Bulls @ Charlotte Hornets
The Bulls have dropped to third in the East after back-to-back defeats to the 76ers and Suns. All-Stars DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine combined for 70 points as they staged a late comeback against the Suns, but they fell just short.
The injury-hit Bulls have suffered another big blow to their backcourt, with rookie Ayo Dosunmu suffering a concussion that will keep him out against the Hornets. With Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, Patrick Williams, and Derrick Jones Jr. already out, the Bulls might be forced to start Coby White or Troy Brown Jr. in Charlotte.
Speaking of injuries, the struggling Hornets – losers of their last five games – suffered a big one with the loss of Gordon Hayward due to an ankle sprain. Kelly Oubre is likely to step into the starting lineup.
Betting Tip: Chicago Bulls Asian Handicap -2.50 @ 2.00
Toronto Raptors @ Oklahoma City Thunder
The Raptors are one of the hottest teams in the NBA at the moment, with their ongoing six-game winning streak vaulting them up to sixth in the Eastern Conference.
Their starting lineup of Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, Fred VanVleet, and Gary Trent Jr. has been sensational, with Siakam and VanVleet both playing at an All-Star level.
The NBA 2022 betting odds will fancy the Raptors’ chances of extending that win streak to seven games when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After a surprising three-game win streak, OKC have dropped their last two to the Kings and Warriors and are now 17-36 on the season. With star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander still out, rookie Josh Giddey has been doing well in control of the offence. He’s averaging 14.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in his last 10 games.
Betting Tip: Oklahoma City Thunder Asian Handicap +9.50 @ 2.01
Golden State Warriors @ Utah Jazz
The Warriors just keep on winning. Their current win streak is now up to nine straight games after comfortable victories over the struggling Kings and Thunder.
Stephen Curry is finally out of his shooting slump. He is averaging 25.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists while shooting 47 per cent on 3-pointers in his last five games.
Splash Brother Klay Thompson is also providing more NBA 2022 highlights and just had back-to-back 20-point games, but he will sit out against the Jazz due to rest. Jordan Poole, who has scored 20 or more points in his last five starts, is a capable replacement for Klay, though.
As for the Jazz, they have now put their disastrous losing skid behind them by winning each of their last three games at home. Donovan Mitchell has returned from a concussion to play the last two games, and he has not missed a beat. After scoring 27 points in 22 minutes against the Nets, he had 32 points to lead the team past the Knicks.
Betting Tip: Golden State Warriors Asian Handicap +2.50 @ 1.92
Los Angeles Lakers @ Portland Trail Blazers
The Lakers simply cannot get on a roll. They suffered another dispiriting defeat last night to the reigning NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks, 131-116. LA are now 26-29 on the season – just 5-10 in their last 15 – games and have dropped down to ninth in the West.
LeBron James – 30.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game in his last 10 games – is doing all he can, but even with the return of Anthony Davis, the team is still struggling amid Russell Westbrook’s inability to be a positive contributor.
The good news for the Lakers is that they will now take on a significantly weakened Portland team that traded away many of its best players over the last few days. The short-handed Blazers lost 113-95 to the Magic last night, their eighth defeat in their last nine games.
Betting Tip: LA Lakers Asian Handicap -8.50 @ 1.95
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Sacramento Kings
The Timberwolves and the Kings are set to play the second of their back-to-back in Sacramento. The Wolves walloped the Kings 134-114 last night on the back of 25 points and 9 rebounds from Karl-Anthony Towns. Malik Beasley added 21 points on seven 3-pointers off the bench.
The Kings, who traded away Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and Tristan Thompson to the Pacers for All-Star forward Domantas Sabonis, Jeremy Lamb, and Justin Holiday, may not get their new players in time for the game.
Betting Tip: Sacramento Kings Asian Handicap +9.50 @ 1.92
