NBA: West Contenders Set to Duel at Arizona

There’ll be eight teams who are going to be featured in the NBA tomorrow, as the Pistons, Mavericks, Clippers, and Warriors take on the Wizards, Pelicans, Thunder, and the Suns, respectively, on the road.

The marquee matchup to watch out for is the one between the Warriors and the Suns, since this will be a star-studded battle between two of the best backcourts in the NBA, with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, and Devin Booker present.

Basketball fans are in for a treat tomorrow, so continue to read on below for the latest SBOTOP preview.

Detroit Pistons @ Washington Wizards

The Pistons want to halt their losing streak when they visit the nation’s capital. On the other hand, the Wizards are fresh from their first loss of the season after losing to the Cavaliers in OT.

Not only would a win give the young Pistons confidence, it would also end their long drought at Washington since they haven’t won a game there since 2014.

Sophomore Cade Cunningham has been doing his part by averaging 18.3 points and seven assists. He led Detroit with 22 points in their recent loss against Indiana.

Rookies Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren are also doing well to start their NBA careers. Ivey had a 17-point, 10 rebound double-double against the Pacers, while Duren is averaging 9.3 points and 7.7 rebounds off the bench.

Detroit will have their hands full in trying to slow down Bradley Beal, who’s off to an efficient start after missing most of last season due to injuries. The three-time All-Star has posted norms of 23 points per game on 62-per cent shooting from the field.

Dallas Mavericks @ New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson is questionable for tomorrow following a hard fall during a fast break play in the final period against the Jazz, while Brandon Ingram will be out for a while since he’s under the league’s concussion protocols.

Even with those absences, the Mavericks cannot let their guard down since the Pelicans are a resilient group as they clawed back from a 17-point deficit, only to lose via a Kelly Olynyk layup in the dying seconds.

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is expected to finish with the highest points in their upcoming NBA match

It can be noted that the Mavericks lost their opener to the Suns when they squandered a 22-point lead, but they did bounce back by ripping the Grizzlies 137-96 last Sunday.

Luka Doncic flirted with a triple-double with 32 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Christian Wood, meanwhile, has been solid off the bench for Dallas with 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Starting tomorrow, four out of the Clippers’ next five matches are against either the Thunder or the Rockets, who have low NBA 2022 odds after they finished at the bottom of the Western Conference last season.

Los Angeles are making the most out of their depth. Paul George notched his first 40-point game of the season against the Kings, and then Marcus Morris topscored for them versus the Suns. They’ve been getting meaningful contributions as well from Ivica Zubac, Luke Kennard, John Wall, and Norman Powell.

Kawhi Leonard, who looked good during preseason, has been coming off the bench as part of his rehab after missing all of last season with a torn ACL. The Klaw is averaging 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in 21 minutes of playing time per contest, although he has only made one three-pointer thus far.

OKC could be without two of their best players for this game as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is dealing with a hip knock while Josh Giddey suffered an ankle sprain in the last time out.

Golden State Warriors @ Phoenix Suns

This should’ve been the WCF matchup last season, but the Mavericks were the reason why this didn’t happen as they beat the Suns in Game 7 to advance to the WCF for the first time since 2011.

The Suns did get some revenge, though, by defeating the Mavericks in the opener. And then they defeated the Clippers on Monday as Chris Paul became the third player in league history to breach the 11,000 assists mark.

Meanwhile, the Warriors beat the Kings on Monday, 130-125. Golden State notched a franchise-record 50 points in the second quarter and held an 18-point lead during halftime.

However, they let the guard down and the Kings came close within four in the final two minutes, only to come up short in the end.

Steph Curry and Devin Booker have been spoiling us with numerous NBA 2022 highlights lately, as they’ve recorded 100 and 96 points respectively in their first three matches.
