AS Roma vs Juventus
There will be no tea party in Boston when two Italian giants clash at the Gillette Stadium for the ICC, with both aiming to make a point before the Serie A season starts.
Roma failed to chase down their rivals last season, and the betting odds say they have a fight on to get one over on the Bianconeri on Sunday. With Asian Handicap Betting, Roma need a small edge to even things up, a +0.50 goal start offering odds of 1.85, with Juventus at 2.07 with that handicap.
Hopefully, the Juventus stars have recovered from their scars of a 4-1 mauling in the 2017 Champions League final to Real Madrid, and they must go again in search of European glory. Domestically, one of the biggest challenges will come from Roma, once more inspired by the complete midfielder in Radja Nainggolan. And with the experienced Daniele de Rossi alongside him, Roma has plenty of steel.
In attack, the Giallorossi has blooded 18-year-old youth product Marco Tumminello who scored the winner in a 3-2 victory over Spurs. The €13m signing Cengiz Under was also on the mark, giving Roma high hopes.
Juve will be as strong and well organised as ever this year, with an attacking threat to strike fear into the heart of any defence as Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala prepare for another campaign. Following a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona, when veteran defender Giorgio Chiellini was on target, Juve beat PSG 3-2 with Claudio Marchisio scoring a second-half double.
So Roma have plenty to think about. But they’ll be right up for the battle of Boston!
