Spurs stay fifth after Southampton put up a good show to take a point at St Mary’s, which will give the Saints the confidence to start their climb while frustrating Spurs. The home side went ahead on 15 minutes when Sanchez put through his own net but their joy was short lived when Harry Kane headed an equaliser three minutes later.
Arsenal 4-1 Crystal Palace
Arsenal showed they have plenty of firepower, with or without Sanchez, by blowing away a hard-to-beat Palace in a blistering first 22 minutes. Mesut Ozil was in inspired form while four team-mates hit the net, Alexandre Lacazette scoring the fourth on 22 minutes. Luka Milivojevic claimed a second half consolation while the Gunners admired their work.
Leicester City 2-0 Watford
Well, the most fickle club owners in England have potted another manager! The talented and much loved Marco Silva (until about a month ago) was sacked by Watford after they slipped to a third defeat in four games. The Foxes are up to seventh, thanks to a penalty from Jamie Vardy and an injury time clincher by Riyad Mahrez.
Everton 1-1 West Bromwich Albion
Big Sam has steadied the ship again at Everton after a run of three consecutive defeats, though it wasn’t pretty. Oumar Niasse equalised for the Toffees after Jay Rodriguez had put West Brom ahead,, Unfortunately for Tofees, poor James McCarthy suffered a horrific leg break to make it a bad day for the home fans.
West Ham United 1-1 Bournemouth
And it was honours even in this mid table clash which leaves the Hammers and the Cherries in 11th and 12th. In an entertaining tussle, Ryan Fraser put the visitors in front on 71 minutes only to see Javier Hernandez equalise just two minutes later.
Stoke City 2-0 Huddersfield Town
The Potters climbed out of the relegation zone, and new boss Paul Lambert couldn’t have wished for a much kinder fixture. After a fruitless first half, Joe Allen opened the scoring on 53 minutes before Mama Biram Diouf doubled the score line. The Terriers are on the slide and just two points above the drop.
