Enjoy the FA Cup Fun in the Sunshine

It’s FA Cup weekend and we have all the ingredients for a feast of knockout football: the sunny UK weather, three of the top sides in the UK, and a perennial underdog!

Semi-final football games, over the weekend, at the hallowed Wembley turf, is a dream for neutrals and sports betting enthusiasts; and boy, do we have two fantastic clashes on offer. Betting tips are shared between the three big sides, but in Southampton we have a brilliant outsider with form, having won the famous trophy as a second division side back in 1976 beating Manchester United.

FA Cup Semi-finals

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspurs

The Red Devils weren’t delighted with the draw which pitted them against Spurs on the Londoners’ home turf. However, they showed no sign of jitters when they stopped off on the South Coast to beat Bournemouth last night, with Romelu Lukaku bagging his 16th league goal of the season.

For Spurs, Harry Kane can take a day off from chasing Mo Salah for the Golden Boot and concentrate on trying to win Mauricio Pochettino his first piece of UK silverware. The Spurs frontman knows how important that is to his boss.

But the game may be won and lost by the suppliers. Christian Eriksen, who has been arguing with Kane over the latter’s bizarrely claimed goal against Stoke, is in fine form and won’t hesitate to feed his hungry friend again on Saturday. Meanwhile, United’s best player, Paul Pogba, blows red hot and ice cold.  So Spurs are at odds of 2.21 to advance with the Red Devils at 3.20.

Chelsea vs Southampton

Sunday’s semi is an odd sort of affair. The Saints are rank outsiders at 6.80 to proceed and, in all honesty, have bigger fish to fry as Mark Hughes’ side is in deep relegation trouble.

The FA Cup is everything to Chelsea now. It’s the only thing the Blues can win and, although they take a tough trip to Burnley before this Wembley clash, I suspect their focus will not be in East Lancashire. They must protect their prize asset Eden Hazard who could win this massive game on his own.

The Saints’ top man, Charlie Austin, is injured more often than fit, but he is the underdogs’ best chance to spring a shock and stop the Blues who are at odds of 1.49 to reach the final.
