The football games after a difficult defeat or a frustrating draw streak is a tell-tale sign of whether a club is worth your football bets or not. The Premier League regulars are usually expected to bounce back after shocking upsets, and my picks will follow three established clubs that are in a bit of a rut.
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea (October 14, 22:00 GMT+8)
Chelsea’s last game was an eyebrow-raising home loss. In their defence, they did manage to stop a ridiculous Manchester City side that boasted players like Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Gabriel Jesus from scoring in the first half.
Expect Chelsea to try and make a statement to the rest of the league when they visit a struggling Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Roy Hodgson still hasn’t found a way to stop the bleeding if we look at how their games in Manchester played out.
It will be an honest, pleasant shock if Crystal Palace even manages to get a goal against N’Golo Kante and company. My first tip is Chelsea -1.50 @ 2.21 for 🌟🌟🌟.
Liverpool vs Manchester United (October 14, 19:30 GMT+8)
Jurgen Klopp is under fire for Liverpool’s inconsistency, but the German gaffer is confident that his lads are slowly coming to form themselves. He will be hopeful that his lads are in good enough form to combat Jose Mourinho and the high-scoring Manchester United.
Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah will need to put on amazing performances in order to counteract whatever Romelu Lukaku and company come up with. Simon Mignolet and the rest of the defence need to put on a proper resistance against the Red Devils’ prolific attack.
Bookies point to Manchester United winning this game by a mile, but Liverpool should be their first real test of the season. I think Liverpool has what it takes to turn this into a draw, so my second pick is a 🌟🌟 for Liverpool +0.25 @ 1.68.
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Everton (October 15, 20:30 GMT+8)
Brighton may be ranked higher than Everton, but the Toffees clearly have the better squad on paper.
Wayne Rooney may not have scored in their last several games, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Oumar Niasse have been there to pick up the slack. The break should have done a lot of good for Ronald Koeman’s lads to help them overcome the newly promoted side.
I think Everton have more than enough talent to silence the Falmer Stadium crowd. My final tip of the day is Everton -0.25 @ 2.04 for 🌟🌟.
