On the Blue side, fears that Romelu Lukaku may be on his way in the Summer need to be put to one side as the 21-goal striker continues to terrorise defences. And the Toffees have an extra incentive, if needed, following the horrific injury suffered by full-back Seamus Coleman playing for Ireland. He’s out of the hospital and on the long road to recovery, and his team-mates would dearly love to put a smile on his face.
Toffees defender Phil Jagielka said: “One thing Seamus will want us to do is to play well and I’m sure he’ll have the TV on and be cheering us on.”
The locals in Liverpool are proud to call this the ‘Friendly Derby’ and rightly so. But on Saturday, as always, both teams will mean business.
