That makes their success, inspired by a top-notch home record, an even finer achievement.
As they celebrate back-to-back seasons in the top flight for the first time since the mid-1970s, they will finish with a flourish.
Against a West Ham side with arguably ‘one eye on the beach’, my 🌟🌟🌟prediction is 1X2 Burnley @ 2.39.
Liverpool vs Middlesbrough (May 21, 22:00 GMT+8)
The need is simple. Win at home against already-relegated Boro and Jurgen Klopp’s side will have secured a place in the Champions League next season (whether that be the group stages or qualifying).
Boro are arguably the perfect opponents as they now prepare for life back in the Championship; although hopes are high on Teeside they will have enough quality to bounce straight back should they retain the bulk of the squad (Premier League parachute payments help too of course).
Nerves in front of an expectant Anfield crowd haven’t always been managed well by Liverpool since the turn of the year, but I have no doubt they will secure what will be their second top-four finish in the past eight seasons.
This game won’t be dull either, which is why I’m predicting another 🌟🌟🌟offering of over 3.00 goals @ 1.78.
