The 2020/21 Premier League season is already underway as 16 out of 20 teams have kicked off the festivities last weekend.
The match between Liverpool and Leeds United produced one of the biggest Premier League 2020 results as they got into a thrilling shootout. The defending champions eventually walked out victorious as Mo Salah came in to save the day.
Meanwhile, Everton and Arsenal also won against their counterparts, so as other sides like Leicester City, Chelsea, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Wolves.
But even with the matches ongoing, the transfer market continues to gain steam as several clubs look to strengthen for a deep run.
As always, SBOTOP is on top with the latest transfer rumours and updates to keep you posted.
Tottenham finding strike partner for Harry Kane
Tottenham got off to a bad start after losing against an improving Everton squad in the last time out, which might reinforce the need to bolster their lineup.
Even prior to the start of the season, team boss Jose Mourinho has been openly candid on trying to acquire one more adept attacker to provide support for the precocious Harry Kane.
According to a report by Football London, Mourinho has a shortlist that includes names such as Habib Diallo, Andrea Belotti, Alexander Sorloth, Arkadiusz Milik, and Danny Ings.
For a squad that wants to improve their Premier League 2020 odds of a Champions League berth, Tottenham are keen on bringing over a proven player to fill their needs. Hence, it is apparent that Danny Ings is their top priority in their shortlist.
Danny Ings has played well for Southampton last term. The creative forward has notched 22 goals and he was in the running for the Golden Boot award.
The 28-year-old is in the midst of his physical prime, which fits into Tottenham’s timeline given their current core. However, the idea of him playing second fiddle behind Harry Kane might be a difficult proposition.
Acquiring Danny Ings might be a stretch for Tottenham at this time. But if they plan on getting him eventually, it might happen in as early as the January transfer window.
Manchester United planning for Jadon Sancho alternatives
By the looks of it, it is becoming apparent that Jadon Sancho won’t be coming to Old Trafford anytime soon.
Borussia Dortmund have reiterated that they will keep their prized winger especially since Manchester United won’t give in to their exorbitant demands.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now have to work with his current core, but recent reports suggest that he will be aiming to add a proven veteran.
The Red Devils are considering a move for Gareth Bale on a loan deal to give themselves more flexibility at the end of the season.
The Welshman has been frozen out by Los Blancos although he has added a La Liga championship under his belt last term.
Bale, who moved from Tottenham in a massive deal back in 2013, still has two years left on his contract and Real Madrid are more than willing to pay half of his weekly wage to fast track his departure.
Besides Bale, Manchester United are keeping their options open with the likes of Kingsley Coman, Ivan Perisic, and Douglas Costa.
Kylian Mbappe linked to a move to Anfield
Paris Saint-Germain are having a horrendous stretch as of late. The Ligue 1 champions have suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in 36 years after being defeated by Lens and Marseille.
Because of this, the talks about Kylian Mbappe possibly leaving PSG next summer have been gaining steam, and several insiders suggest that the French superstar might be taking his talents to Anfield if things fall into place.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Kylian Mbappe have long had a mutual appreciation for each other. Earlier this year, Mbappe heaped praise to the Reds’ title run last term.
Although there aren’t any imminent signs that this will come into fruition, the 21-year-old striker is expected to have big-time suitors such as Barcelona and Real Madrid to be keeping tabs of this development.
Arsenal to reinforce their midfield
The Gunners got off to a great start by beating Fulham last weekend, but team manager Mikel Arteta isn’t going to rest on his laurels anytime soon.
The former Arsenal playmaker is not yet done on retooling his roster as he will be looking to fill in the void left by Emiliano Martinez along with adding one more midfielder.
Martinez made his transfer to Aston Villa via a four-year deal and Arsenal are looking to replace him with either David Raya and Runar Alex Runarrson.
Furthermore, the Gunners have been persistent in trying to secure the services of Houssem Aouar, who has established himself as a household name playing for Lyon last term.
According to reports, Arsenal initially offered Matteo Guendouzi plus cash for a player swap deal, but it was rejected by Lyon.
However, with the proceeds coming from the Martinez deal, perhaps that will help them to make a better offer for the 22-year-old midfielder. Arsenal would need at least 60-M Euros to acquire Aouar.
