Brazil vs Chile
A late Alexis Sanchez goal against Equador has given Chile a good chance of World Cup qualification when they visit Brazil on Tuesday.
Football betting pundits and fans have a difficult task deciding who will join Brazil, and almost certainly Uruguay, in qualification. Third-placed Chile have the hardest fixture of the chasing pack, but with Brazil already qualified, Sanchez and co have a real chance.
Brazil are at 1.81 to win, with Asian Handicap Betting, Chile are at betting odds of 4.10 with the draw at 3.50. But the hosts played out a goalless draw with lowly Bolivia on Thursday, so if ever there was a time to play the Green and Gold of Brazil, this is probably it.
A draw may be enough for Chile, as fourth-placed Colombia face Peru, in fifth, while sixth-placed Argentina have a difficult test in Ecuador. Even though Ecuador are already eliminated, Chile struggled to beat them at home, Sanchez striking late on after the visitors had equalised Eduardo Vargas’ early goal.
Arsenal’s moody star could hold the key for Chile. He’s playing with a bigger smile in his homeland than he does at the Emirates, and with his seven goals in the competition, only Edinson Cavani has more.
Keeping the goals out may be a bigger problem, with a strikeforce of Philippe Coutinho, Gabriel Jesus and Neymar, the Brazilians can strike fear into any defence.
But Bolivia held them at bay, so Sanchez must hope that Chile’s rearguard can do the same, and then he can do his business.
