Super Spurs aim to make Dreams and slash Betting Odds

Can they do it? Can Spurs chase Chelsea down to give Blues’ fans nightmares and their own supporters the stuff of dreams?

With a big midweek programme in full flow, Spurs hope to go to the weekend still within seven points of the top, or even fewer. And at the weekend, there are vital football games right through the division, with European qualification, and relegation issues becoming hotter by the day.

Chat among fans and football betting pundits is reaching its annual fever pitch!

WEEK 32 SATURDAY:

Tottenham Hotspur vs Watford FC

Spurs failed to chase Leicester down last season but they won’t give up on Chelsea quite yet. They’ll be buoyed by the news that Harry Kane’s recovery is going well and have enough quality to beat Watford. The Hornets’ spiky manager Walter Mazzarri has taken his team to safety with back-to-back wins and Troy Deeney scored his 100th Watford goal on Wednesday.

Manchester City vs Hull City

Manchester City have looked like a work in progress for Pep Guardiola for much of this season, mostly brilliant but occasionally flaky. A top-two place would be nice but top four is a must. The Tigers will fight hard though; having clawed their way back into the relegation battle, and winger Kamil Grosicki is a lively spark.

Stoke City vs Liverpool

The Potters fired blanks at Burnley on Wednesday, but in midfielder Joe Allen they have an ex-Liverpool player with real Anfield quality. The Reds have been the most exciting attacking force this season, but this is the type of game they need to win to cement a top-four place. But beware, Stoke are a tough nut to crack having recently frustrated Manchester City.

West Bromwich Albion vs Southampton

These are two teams which can be proud of their seasons. West Brom, on 44 points, have been hard to beat as Manchester United discovered last week. Southampton have been playing some great football, particularly since the arrival of Manolo Gabbiadini, but will know the Baggies have won four of their last five at home.

West Ham United vs Swansea City

And here are two teams who can be less proud. It’s a big game for the wrong reasons as either team can take a big step to survival with a win, not a prize they would have coveted at the start of the season. With such talent as Michail Antonio and Fernando Llorente at their disposal, they should have been comfortable.

Middlesbrough vs Burnley

The Clarets can start to look forward to another top-flight season despite still searching for a first away win of the season. Boro are in the deep mire though and need to dig their way out quickly to avoid a rapid return to the Championship. The hosts have only scored 20 goals all season so this could be hard to watch!

WEEK 32 SUNDAY:

Bournemouth vs Chelsea

Antonio Conte is a passionate man with a cool core. He won’t be panicking when the leaders set off for a teatime trip to the South Coast. But I think there’ll be goals in this game. The Cherries have had a nice run at the right time, with two home wins in a four-match unbeaten sequence to last weekend, and they’ll play with freedom.

Everton vs Leicester City

If this game had been a month ago, we’d have said it’s a home win all day long. But since dumping Claudio Ranieri, the Foxes have won six in six and Jamie Vardy has reached ten goals for the season. Everton have won their last five home games though, so this is a real test of Leicester’s rediscovered quality.

WEEK 32 TUESDAY:

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Two old enemies meet on Tuesday football as Sam Allardyce, so often Arsene Wenger’s tormenter when he was Bolton boss, will brief his resurgent Eagles to make it hard for the Gunners. The arch pragmatist and his well-drilled team against Arsenal’s silky, latterly sulky, stars…who’ll win this time?
